'O beautiful' by Alan Brown [Gay-themed filmed short-subject]
[Part 1 of 4, excerpted from the BOYS LIFE, Volume 4 gay-themed short film anthology]
Being gay-bashed and left in a corn field in rural America takes an unusual turn when one of the bashers returns with remorse and a secret.
The midnight conversation between Brad (Jay Gillespie) the gay twink who has just been bashed and Andy (David Clayton Rogers) the all-American Christian jock who returns and offers him comfort is the focus of this smartly directed splitscreen narrative. A truly remarkable short-film with outstanding young actors who manage to display some serious chops in only a half hour.

This truly outstanding film, like others I'll upload here from time to time, should be considered ample reayounger for supporting 'Independent' short-subject film-makers. I strongly encourage everyone to go out and purchase a copy of the retail DvD, and experience for yourself 'first-hand' the artist's vision as he truly intended.
Other short film subjects included in this anthology include:
L.T.R. ( U.S.A., 2002, Phillip J Bartell, 16 min, )
This mockumentary dares to explore the maturity and commitment that today's queer youth are all about. It follows two boys through the duration of a "lengthy" two-week relationship. With the current reality TV trend, this fun entry places two cute boys under the scrutiny of the camera and the camera man.
BUMPING HEADS (U.S.A., 2002, Brian Sloan, 17 min )
Gay film favorite Craig Chester plays a middle-aged gay man who must have been unconscious to fall for a dizzy young fox he met at a party. This was our least favorite film on the collection. As both actor Craig Chester and director Brian Sloan are both quite talented we hope they move onto less mannered work in the future.
THIS CAR UP ( U.S.A., 2002, Eric Mueller, 16 min )
Did you ever wonder about those hot, rough-looking bike messenger boys? We found one that really delivers. A radical and really quite amazing film that uses four frames to deliver a story of glances and inner thoughts. The critics' favorite in the collection is original, witty and sexy.
